Although this deer rivals my best ever, it is nowhere near Pope and Young record level. According my my own measurements, subject to amateur error, he green scored 114 gross. Weighed 170 lbs on the hoof. Not bad for a Fairfax County VA deer on a suburban property.

Very nice 10 point buck taken in a small draw between an alfalfa field and corn field. The weather was getting chilly and this buck made his appearance under my stand about 20 minutes before shooting light was over. I drew back with my Mathews bow and placed a nice shot right behind the shoulder in the vitals. He ran only about 30 yards and crashed near the creek bank. I was really happy with this nice southwest Virginia whitetail.
